Proverbs on Forgiveness

Proverbs 16:6

Unfailing love and faithfulness covers sin; evil is avoided by fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 16:7

When the ways of people please the Lord, he makes even their enemies live at peace with them.

Proverbs 17:5

Those who mock the poor insult their maker; those who rejoice at the misfortune of others will be punished.

Proverbs 19:23

Fear of the Lord gives life, security, and protection from harm.

Proverbs 24:17-18

Do not rejoice when your enemies fall into trouble. Don’t be happy when they stumble. For the Lord will be displeased with you and will turn his anger away from them.

 Proverbs 24: 28-29

Do not testify spitefully against innocent neighbors; don’t lie about them. And don’t say, “Now I can pay them back for all their meanness to me! I’ll get even!”

Proverbs 25: 21-22

If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals on their heads, and the Lord will reward you.

Proverbs 28:13

People who cover over their sins will not prosper. But if they confess and forsake them, they will receive mercy.

Blessed are those who have a tender conscience, but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble.
