But all who listen to me will live in peace and safety, unafraid of harm.
Proverbs 2:1-5
My child, listen to me and treasure my instructions. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight and understanding. Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure. Then you will understand what is means to fear the Lord and you will gain knowledge of God.
Proverbs 3:1-2
My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, for they will give you a long and satisfying life.
Proverbs 4:1-5
My children listen to me. Listen to your father’s instruction. Pay attention and grow wise, for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my teaching. For I, too, was once my father’s son, tenderly loved by my other as an only child. My father told me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my instructions and you will live. Learn to be wise and develop good judgment. Don’t forget or turn away from my words.”
Proverbs 4:10-13
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. If you live a life guided by wisdom, you won’t limp or stumble as you run. Carry out my instructions; don’t forsake them. Guard them, for they will lead you to a fulfilled life.
Proverbs 4:20-23
Pay attention, my child, to what I say. Listen carefully. Don’t lose sight of my words. Let them penetrate deep within your heart, for they bring life and radiant health to anyone who discovers their meaning. Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.
Proverbs 6:20-23
My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s teaching. Keep their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck. Wherever you walk, their counsel can lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up in the morning, they will advise you. For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you. The correction of discipline is the way to life.
Proverbs 7:1-3
Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands. Obey them and live! Guard my teachings as your more precious possession. Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.
Proverbs 8:32-34
“And so, my children, listen to me [Wisdom], for happy are all who follow my ways. Listen to my counsel and be wise. Don’t ignore it. Happy are those who listen to me, watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home! For whoever finds me finds life and wins approval from the Lord. But those who miss me have injured themselves. All who hate me love death.”
