Why God Delays Your Blessing
by Tony Evans

So many people today feel like permanent losers. When that spark of enjoyment comes it winds up looking like fireworks on the fourth of July, brightening up your life, but only for a moment, it dissipates and fizzes and the darkness prevails again. If there is one thing that the Christian faith offers you no matter what your circumstance, situation, background, history or sins is hope. Even if nothing has been reversed yet in your life or in your situation when Jesus Christ is brought into the equation there is hope.

Here are some highlights from this message about prayer from Tony Evans.

In John 6 we have a hopeless situation in verse 2 at the pool of Bethesda. It was a health spa in New Testament days with water that was used for healing or medicinal purposes. So masses would gather at the pool and wait for this stirring of the water where God in some supernatural way would disrupt the natural flow of the water. The first person that stepped in would be healed. On one hand that’s an exciting thing, but on another hand it was only good for one person.  In John 6:5 a certain man has been dealing with his sickness for 38 years. This man is showing up every year trying to get healed. God does miracles with a purpose and the purpose of a miracle that’s used as a sign is to let you learn something about God that you would not otherwise know.  If you are waiting for a miracle, if you’re waiting for the supernatural presence of God, you have to be open to the lesson that the miracle is designed to teach. It’s better to get a miracle and go to heaven than to get a miracle and be on your way to hell. In John 6:7 the certain man says I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred but while I am coming another steps down before me. Jesus sees the man lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time in that condition, he said to him “do you wish to get well”?

At 13:60, Tony talks about how Jesus doesn’t want to fix a messed up outside and leave a messed up inside:

Jesus could see what nobody else could see, he could understand what nobody else could understand. Why this man and why that question? Because Jesus wants to deal with the man completely. He doesn’t want to fix a messed up outside and leave a messed up inside. Jesus doesn’t just want to answer your prayer so your external circumstances changed leaving your internal scenario like he found it.  In verse 14 Jesus found him in the temple and said to him “Behold you have become well, do not sin anymore so that nothing worse may befall you.” God doesn’t want to fix you up without fixing up what caused you to be messed up. He wants to deal with the inside cause of the outside circumstance. Many of us are messed up today because of sin. You’ve been paying a 38-year price for choices that you shouldn’t have made. Maybe if you’ve been in a hopeless situation you’ve been praying about the wrong thing. Maybe you’ve been praying about God fixing my external circumstance without healing my internal soul. In order for this miracle to take place this man had to come clean, he had to be willing to make the choice that he was willing to be made whole inside out, he wanted to be transformed.

At 25:44, Tony talks about why God Delays answering prayers:

Why does God delay answering your prayers, meeting that need, solving that problem, fixing that circumstance, addressing that pain? Why does God take his time when things are only going to get worse. John 11 give the ultimate miracle when he raised Lazarus from the dead. Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that our brother is sick and we’re calling on you for help. When Jesus heard this he said, “this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God that the Son of God may be glorified.”  When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick he delays going for two days. God can love you at the same time and let you suffer. The first reason God delays is to show is sovereignty, that means he’s got everything under control. In verse 4 he says the reason I’m going to let him be sick and the reason I’m going to delay fixing the sickness is that God is going to use this situation for his greater glory. The second reason God delays his answer is to increase our faith. If you’re going to learn to believe God at a deeper level, you’re going to have to go through a deeper situation. God delays because he wants you to see him. God also delays because he’s usually doing something bigger than your situation. If you’ve been praying for a long time and there’s been a delay, I want you to praise Him. I want you to say Lord, how do you want to get glory from this situation? God also delays because he wants to develop you. Verse 26 says that everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Believers don’t die, you just need to know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  Less than one second after you close your eyes and what men call death, you opening them in the presence of the Lord.

At 30:25, Tony concludes this message with the following statements

When you are calling on God and you love him and you know he loves you, and yet there is a delay you need to raise the question. Lord, how do you want to use this situation for your greater glory?  If you delay, it’s got to be you’re holding out on me because you’re going to get more glory out of my sick situation than delivering me simply at the moment that I call.

Jesus doesn’t deliver you just so you can exist, he delivers you so you can be loosed and set free.  He delivers you for a deeper intimate relationship with him. He delivers you to develop you into a new closeness that you never had before.  God delays to grow you.

Getting Through The Enemy’s Line
by Prayer Tony Evans

A tribal chief from Africa was introduced to a body builder and after an impressive show of his strength and muscle the chief asked what else he used his muscles for. The chief said what a waste to have all that muscle and not use it. Our struggle is not against the physical world but principalities and power and world forces. Whatever is plaguing you today emanates from the spiritual realm.

So if you and I do not address the cause you can’t get to the cure. One of the toughest things for God to get his people to do is to look at life and live life from the spiritual frame of reference and not from the reference point of the five senses.

Here are some highlights from this message about the enemy from Tony Evans.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ESV translation The enemy (Satan) doesn’t want you to know or take seriously that it emanates from the spiritual realm because then you might address it spiritually. As long as he can keep you dealing with the fruit and bypass the root, he can keep you hostage.  Regardless of what you’re going through in the physical realm, in the spiritual unseen realm Jesus Christ has already gotten victory. You are victorious in the invisible even though you may be thoroughly defeated in the physical. Ephesians 6:18-19 says, “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition for all God’s people. And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news.” When you understand prayer it changes that you pray, how you pray, whether you pray, and your expectations having prayed.

At 5:37, Tony addresses the effectiveness of prayer:

Prayer for many people has no relevance to what’s happening. For example before we eat we really don’t need our minds because it’s going to be the same thing we say every day, “Lord, bless this food and nurture it to our bodies. In Jesus name, Amen.” It’s a routine without meaning for many of us. Prayer is like a spare tire, we want it there in case we really need it. If you understand prayer in the context of this section it will change whether you pray, how you pray and it will change what you get when you pray. I would like to define prayer as earthly permission for heavenly interference. Why does heaven need permission? You have to understand how God organized the world to work through people. God has given us rulership over the earth and he joins us when invited to do so. He does not intervene or participate unless requested to do so because God has given you and me the right to leave him out.  Prayer doesn’t force him or cajole him, if God doesn’t plan to do it I don’t care how much you pray about it prayer does not force God’s hand. But what prayer does is it calls on God to intervene in ways he wants to intervene anyway, but won’t do it until requested to. In James 5:16 he says the effectual prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. Elijah was a righteous man and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it stopped raining for three years. He prayed again that it would rain and it rained.  God said it was going to rain, but what God said didn’t come true until Elijah prayed. In other words, prayer called down what God already had intended to do. Prayer is not making God do something he never planned to do. Prayer is grabbing what God intended to do and driving it down.

At 17:11, Tony explains that prayer is receiving by faith what is already planned:

Prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference predicated on the fact that this is what heaven intended to do. If you don’t know what God has said or you don’t know what to expect from God then you will pray empty prayers, you’re not connecting it with the spiritual realm. We spend allot of our time talking to men about God and very little time talking to God about men. In a thing called prayer you’re not making God do something, you are simply receiving by faith what he’s already planned to do.  The spiritual realm is totally surrounding you right now, there are angels and demons in this room. Prayer is the means of contacting the invisible spiritual realm and bring it down to the visible physical realm. God wants us to pray at specific times when we need to take all the full armor of God so that you may be able to resist in the evil day. That’s the day when all hell breaks loose, when you feel like you’re going lose your mind, when nothing’s going right because you’re under attack. That day demands the armor of God be worn by you in all of God’s power. One of the reasons we don’t see God show up is that we don’t earnestly talk to God when we need him. When you pray in the Spirit it means that you’re making a spiritual connection. You can quote scriptures in your prayer or you can take a principle of Scripture and place it in front of God. When you tell God “remember you said you would supply all my needs according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus” and I have this emergency situation going on right now. Bring spiritual truth into your conversation with God. You are praying spiritually, you’re not just praying fleshly, randomly or routinely or rote. When you can’t make it another day but you bring spiritually into the presence of God, the Spirit takes over and he lifts you up in a way you cannot lift yourself up. He knows what’s happening up there in the invisible realm. He knows what the evil one is doing to you.  You don’t keep praying to get God the answer, you are now praying for God to intervene to keep Satan from blocking the answer he’s already given.

At 44:47, Tony concludes this message with the following statements about the enemy and prayer:

Lions roar after they get their prey, it’s their declaration of victory. He says to keep your eyes open when you pray because when you’re calling down heaven, hell wants to block that. So keep your eyes open, that is spiritually open to see what’s going on around you. When you are trying to pray distractions show up so many times. When you’re trying to pray you’re sleepy, or something pops up because the lion does not want you to interfere with his trying to block the answer from getting to you.  The enemy does not want that prayer to go through and so he’s going to try to distract you from prayer. Allot of stuff you asked for has already been pre-approved, it’s just that in the spiritual realms there’s the attempt to block it. If you will persevere God will send the help needed to break it through so that you see it revealed in the physical realm.

Praying and Waiting for God’s Timing
by Tony Evans

Prayer is the one thing God has established to make contact with what he has already decreed. Where there is no prayer there is no contact, and where there is no contact you do not get what God has already declared for you to have, known as his will. Do you want your prayers to be more effective? Your job is to distribute what God makes to happen from the invisible spiritual to the visible physical.

Video Highlights

Here are some highlights from this message about prayer from Tony Evans.

Prayer is the mechanism God has decreed that is absolutely necessary for him to release what he intends. Prayer does not make God do what he hadn’t planned to do. Isaiah 65:24 says that “before you call I will answer.” In other words the answer has already been made, it’s just waiting on the call. God has already decreed his will for you. Prayer activates the decree and the will of God, it doesn’t make it happen. It just grabs it because it has already been decreed to happen.

Prayer is the mechanism that grabs something out of the invisible realm so you can see it at work in the visible physical realm. I Kings 18 it states that, “the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year saying go show yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the face of the earth.” In chapter 17:1 he says, it’s not going to rain, in chapter 18:1 he says it’s getting ready to rain. In Deuteronomy 11:13-17 God says if you go worship idols I’m going to close down heaven so it won’t rain. If you choose other gods, I’m going to no longer bless your crops, your planting, your fruit bearing and the sky is going to dry up. But he says if you turn away from other gods then I will open up heaven and I will let rain again fall on the earth. So the reason Elijah is praying is based on something God had said years earlier to Moses.

At 13:22, Tony continues to explain why many prayers go unanswered:

There are things in Scripture that are applicable to your scenario that you’re seeking a miracle for that you’ll never see rain on because you don’t know how to link what you’re asking for to what God has declared. James 5:16 says “therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effectual prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”

As long as there was idolatry there would be no rain. People want God to send rain in their lives called blessings without wanting God to change their lives. They want God to do something for them while they remain idolaters (and remember idolatry is any unauthorized noun, person, place or thing that you look to meet your needs). An idol can be a person, a place, money, possessions, a job, your career, your position.

At 16:30, Tony reveals why it is important for us to pray even for things God already plans to do:

We have people coming to church all the time looking for their blessing who don’t want to be messed with by their God. What God has decreed needs a point of contact before it is delivered. So even though God decreed rain start and stop he didn’t let it rain until Elijah made it a prayer matter.  So God has decreed certain things for your life, his will, and it’s sitting up there to be delivered at the proper time when the point of contact is made. Your proximity to God will determine what you hear. See if you are not close to God you won’t hear the will of God applied to you. You cannot hear the sound of God’s will and live a lifestyle that makes him sad.

An answer is coming in due season if you keep going, you don’t quit because you see nothing, you hear nothing, you know nothing. Sometimes God doesn’t give it to you all at once. Sometimes he brings a little something that’s a little cue to let you know, keep on going, keep on praying, keep on trusting.

At 20:42, Tony concludes this message with the following statements:

If you’re here today looking for a miracle that will open up heaven, shut heaven, that is, bring the supernatural in the history, based on the will of God, tied to his word, you must have an effectual fervent righteous prayer.

God can take you and give you strength for whatever he’s going to bring you through.

If you need a miracle today in your life, your emotions, your home or your job commit to righteousness. If you commit to prayer what happened to Elijah, James says is available to you.

“You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” — Lyrics

Don’t give up
It’s just the weight of the world
When your heart’s heavy
I…I will lift it for you
Don’t give up
Because you want to be heard
If silence keeps you
I…I will break it for you
Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don’t give up
Because you are loved
Don’t give up
It’s just the hurt that you hide
When you’re lost inside
I…I will be there to find you
Don’t give up
Because you want to burn bright
If darkness blinds you
I…I will shine to guide you
Everybody wants to be understood
Well I can hear you
Everybody wants to be loved
Don’t give up
Because you are loved
You are loved
Don’t give up
It’s just the weight of the world
Don’t give up

You Are Loved — Stars Go Dim

“You Are Loved” Lyrics

We hide pain in the weirdest places
Broken souls with smiling faces
Fighting for surrender
For now and the after, yeah
Just look around and you’ll see that people
Are scared to say how they really feel, oh
We all need a little honesty
You are loved
If your heart’s in a thousand pieces
If you’re lost and you’re far from reason
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
When it feels like somethings missing
If it hurts but you can’t find healing
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
We’re not made to be superheroes
Photoshopped, all size zeroes
A light not expected
But not quite perfected yet
Look up; see the sun is shining
There’s hope on a new horizon
Calling you, it’s calling
You are loved
If your heart’s in a thousand pieces
If you’re lost and you’re far from reason
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
When it feels like somethings missing
If it hurts but you can’t find healing
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved.
You, don’t have to prove yourself
Don’t try to be someone else
You don’t have to prove yourself
Don’t try to be someone else
You are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
If your heart’s in a thousand pieces
If you’re lost and you’re far from reason
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
When it feels like somethings missing
If it hurts but you can’t find healing
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
If your heart’s in a thousand pieces
If you’re lost and you’re far from reason
Just look up; know you are loved
Just look up; know you are loved
When it feels like somethings missing
If it hurts but you can’t find healing

The Love of God

The Love of God: A Hymn History Story

The hymn, The Love of God, was written 100 years ago, in 1917, by Frederick Lehman.

When he was four, Frederick’s family had immigrated to America from Germany. They settled in Iowa and Mr. Lehman became a pastor in the Midwest. He was quite musical and enjoyed composing songs. But the family fell on hard times.

In 1917, Mr. Lehman found himself moving crates of lemons and oranges in a citrus packing shed in Pasadena, California. One day on the way to work, he contemplated the preaching he had heard the Sunday before on the love of God. Thoughts of God’s love grew and wouldn’t leave him. Then a song began to compose itself in his mind.

Between breaks at the packing shed, Mr. Lehman pulled up a lemon box, sat down and scribbled down bits of verse. Using a stubby pencil to write on the slats of broken packing boxes, he recorded the words as they came to him throughout the day. After work, he took the broken slats home, sat down at the family’s old, upright piano and put the words to music.

However, the hymn only had two stanzas, and in those days hymns had three. Frederick struggled to write a third stanza, but the words would not come.

Then he remembered a poem he had heard read in church that spoke of the beauty and vastness of God’s love. Perhaps, if he could find the poem, it would give him inspiration. He searched and found the poem—printed on a piece of paper that he had used as a book mark.

Later Frederick discovered that it had supposedly been found written on the wall of a cell in a mental hospital. After the patient had died, those in charge of readying the cell for its next occupant had been inspired by the words and copied them down before repainting.

And the story behind the words had an even deeper history. Evidently the words found written in English on the wall in the insane asylum had been translated from a poem originally written in Hebrew. A Jewish rabbi who lived in Germany, Meir Ben Isaac Nehori, had penned the original poem around the year 1000.

Upon finding the poem, Mr. Lehman discovered, to his amazement, that it fit perfectly with the other verses he had written. Thus it became the third stanza of the beloved hymn:

Could we with ink the oceans fill and were the skies of parchment made,

Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade,

To write the love of God above would drain the oceans dry,

Nor could the scroll contain the whole through stretched from sky to sky.

And so today—across continents, across centuries, despite hard times—the vast, timeless, incomprehensible love of God endures.

A Life Characterized by Love

Here are some highlights from this message about Love by Pastor Jim Cymbala.

In the very last part of Matthew 5, Jesus is preaching what we call the Sermon on the Mount. “Be perfect therefore as your heavenly Father is perfect.”. . .  What does that mean? What’s the context? It can’t mean perfectionism. It can’t mean be perfect—as in quality—with God, because the Bible says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Even as Christians, the Bible says, “If anyone says he has no sin, he is a liar; the truth is not in him.”

Referring to the Old Testament . . .  Jesus said [in Matthew 5:43-48], “You have heard, love your neighbor, hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you that you may be sons and daughters of your Father in heaven. God the Father causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors, the publicans, doing that?  If you greet only your brothers, the people that are like you, your color, your background . . . Don’t even the pagans do that? Now be perfect therefore as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

This verse is stunning. . . . Jesus is saying, “If you want to be true sons and daughters of your heavenly Father, remember: He is love. He doesn’t have love; He is love. His essence is love.”  He has power. He has wisdom. . . . Those are attributes of God, but His essence is love. So, to be a true son or daughter of God and to reflect His heart, your life has to be characterized by love, or you become a contradiction to the name you are carrying—which is Christian.

You spiritually are children of a heavenly Father so you’re supposed to reflect what He looks like. What is He? He is love.

At 6:31 Pastor Cymbala points out that the Christian church should be characterized by Jesus’ love:

When you walk into a Christian church, the first thing that should hit you is love—the love of God.

A lot of churches around the country, in the world, don’t reflect love. They reflect a doctrinal edge. We are Calvinists. We are Armenians. We are Evangelicals. We are Charismatics. These words don’t exist to God.

The Christian church is supposed to be a Holy Ghost hospital where anybody can come in broken, smashed in life, every color, homeless, smelly, whatever, they come in and they are loved because we know that Jesus died for them.

Did Jesus Christ favor one person over another? No. He did not. He never turned one person away. Not one!

At 14:03 he makes it clear that love is the defining mark of all sons and daughters of God:

If you want to know how strong you are in God, there is only one test; that is love. . . . If you speak with the tongue of men and angels and have not love you are zero. If you understand all mysteries, if you have faith to move mountains but don’t have love . . . What is the sense of talking about Jesus if we don’t reflect more and more of His love? He prayed for people who were killing Him, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.”

The acid test of all spirituality is: “How much are you controlled by the love of God? How much does that love exude out of us?”

If you love people who love you, what is that? If you stroke people who stroke you, what is that? Sinners do that. If you love your family or you love people of the same race because they are your race, or you love everyone from your country. . . . But there is no special country. There is just a special Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the One.

If you really want to be like your heavenly Father, love your enemies. Bless those that curse you. Love people who are different. Love people who are unloving. Love people who just turn you off. Love them.. . . Your heavenly Father, when He sends the rain . . . The rain just doesn’t fall on the Christian farm. It comes on the atheist farm, on the Muslim farm, on the Hindu farm, on the degenerate’s farm. The rain is coming down on all of it. . . .  If your heavenly Father loves and blesses all people regardless of where they are coming from, now show the world that you belong to that family and love unconditionally.

At 19:43 Pastor Cymbala shares that we can’t work ourselves up to loving like God created us to love:

And I’m telling you, that love is not in us. . . . I want to tell you the truth about Christianity. Unfortunately a lot of Christianity and preaching has become “Old Testatment-ish.” We give people commands. They get revved up and make vows. . . . But you are going to break that vow . . . because that’s not Christianity. Christianity isn’t trying to do stuff in your own strength.

Jesus says, “Without Me you can do nothing. You can’t love anyone without Me. That’s why when you come into My family, I’m going to put My Spirit of love in you and you’ll be able to love because it won’t be you. It’ll be Me loving them. It’ll be My Spirit loving them.”

I’ll never have that love in me. I’ll never love people who hate me. That’s not in Jim Cymbala. . . . Just because God gives us a command doesn’t mean He wants you to try and obey it. He wants us to obey it, but it has to be Him doing it through us. . . .  For every command there is a promise that God will help you to do it.

Without Him it is hopeless. Jesus is my strength through the Holy Spirit. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace . . .”.  Let that Spirit inside of you express Himself. Yield to Him. Walk controlled by Him and you’ll show people what Jesus is like.

To conclude his message, at 23:57 Pastor Cymbala shares a powerful, personal story about a homeless man who visited his church. Hear the story of the two men hugging and crying in the love of God. Hear the power of transforming love—in both hearts.

At 34:47 Pastor Cymbala ends with a prayer for all of us:

Forgive us for our lack of love. Break us that are proud and hard . . . Humble us to become like children so we can say, “Fill us with Your love.” Baptize us in Your love. . . By this will all men know that you are My disciples because we love one another. Help that love to go to the world and to people who are contrary. . . We love You today because You first loved us. Fill us with Your love and let the world see it.

Amen.

Professor Dr. Caroline Crocker mentioned intelligent design and lost her job at George Mason University. Peers claimed she taught creationism and as a result was blacklisted from being hired at other employers. In another classroom, neurosurgeon Dr. Michael Egnor, received vicious public criticism after telling his students that studying evolution wasn’t necessary to practice medicine. Opponents are worried that allowing giving the freedom to teach intelligent design in the classroom opens the door to allow creationism into the schools. There is a strong public incentive for professors to remain in the main stream and suppress teaching of intelligent design. (watch video)

Ben Stein is concerned that “Modern Theory of Intelligent Design is microwaved creationism.” Dr. Nelson from Biola University, claims that creationism properly understood begins with the Bible, asking “How can I fit the Bible into the data of science?” Whereas intelligent design is study of patterns of nature that are best explained as a result of intelligence. Then Darwinism states there is a common decent of all life on earth from a single ancestor by undirected mutation and natural selection. Scientists who are creationists claim that Darwinism corrupts and distorts the evidence and it is bad for science. Darwinism is used to prop a theory that doesn’t fit it. (watch video)

David Berlinski, PHd in philosophy, asks “Is the Darwinian Theory clear enough so that it could be correct?” Berlinski says no. He claims that Darwin’s theory is a mess and is like looking into a room full of smoke, nothing is clear. The theory doesn’t say how life begins, the theory starts after the origin of life, with a single cell. Ben Stein discovers that a cell is infinitely more complicated than Darwin thought in 1859. Darwinist Michael Ruse, actually believes Darwin’s theory is more plausible than intelligent design. Ruse supports his opinion with the theory that life is formed on the backs of crystals. Nobel prize winner Francis Crick believes life originated by aliens. Is it even conceivable that life could have happened in a step-by-step method? (watch video)

A cell is unlike anything we have ever seen in the physical world, it contains the equivalent of a gigabit of information. Since cells need an information source, scientists want to know where do cells get the information from. Science is a multi-billion dollar industry, but the freedom of science is an obstacle. According to journalist Larry Witham, if you want to get grants, high positions, and awards, you cannot question the paradigm. Scientific establishments are afraid of free speech for fear of unraveling when one aspect of the theory is scrutinized. Evolution is an engine pushing people to Atheism. Is it possible to believe in God and Darwinism? (watch video)

Reporters are supplying a boiler plate answer to what intelligent design is. They say that life is “too complex” to answer that question. Therefore, public understanding of evolution and intelligent design never advanced. When reporters side against evolution, extreme pressure is experienced. Journalist Pamela Winnick received hate letters after her article on intelligent design was published. The conflict of where life begins has become a worldview conflict. The debate is a religious war and no longer a scientific investigation. Ben Stein discovers that religions are being attacked instead of society combating Darwinism. (watch video)

Evolutionists are here today and gone tomorrow, their belief is that there is no life after death and that there is no free will. Since throughout history, evolution has been illegal to teach, many Christians are unaware of evolution. Science can erode faith by reporting the horrible conflicts with religion. For most evolutionary biologists, Darwinism leads to atheism. They feel religion is fantasy and empty of explanatory content and they hope for religion to fade away and science to replace it. Science was used to replace humans during WWII. People who were handicapped and not able to work were useless eaters and were killed by Nazis. They wanted a society without illnesses and without handicaps. Darwinism was the driver of this madness. (watch video)

Ben Stein toured the Hadamar death camp where useless people were killed during WWII. The movement of evolution continued its obsurdity with Eugenics by sterilizing the feeble minded and preventing them from getting married. 50,000 were sterilized because they were unfit to breed. Planned Parenthood drove this movement by pushing birth control for the impoverished and lower classes to help them improve their species. These are examples of how evil can be rationalized as science. Sadly, Hitler thought he was bettering humanity by driving evolution forward. The inhumane drive continues with euthanasia and abortion. Science is protecting a failing ideaology from competition. Science is similar to the Cold War, a wall was built in Germany to keep ideas out, society is keeping discovery of science out. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Inquiring builds great nations. Thomas Jefferson had it correct “all men are created equal.” Not only have scientists been expelled, freedoms are being expelled. There needs to be a break in the wall to allow questions to be asked of the sciences and allow academic freedom. (watch video)

Ben Stein interviews atheist Richard Dawkins about why he does not believe in the existence of God. When pressed to explain how the universe began, Dawkins does not respond with a clear answer. He then allows for the possibility of intelligent design while still refusing that God could be the designer. Stein then concludes by emphasizing that the freedom of inquiry in science is being threatened. What happens to science when scientists are not free to ask certain questions or express conclusions from their investigations? (watch video)
