Proverbs on Education
Proverbs 1:2-4
The purpose of these Proverbs is to teach people wisdom and discipline, and to help them understand wise sayings. Through these Proverbs, people will receive instruction and discipline, good conduct, in doing what is right, just, and fair. These Proverbs will make the simple-minded clever. They will give knowledge and purpose to young people.
Proverbs 1:8-9
Listen, my child, to what your father teaches you. Don’t neglect your mother’s teaching. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and clothe you with honor.
Proverbs 2:1-2
My child, listen to me and treasure my instructions. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
Proverbs 3:1-2
My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart, for they will give you a long and satisfying life.
Proverbs 4:1-2
My child, listen to me. Listen to your father’s instruction. Pay attention and grow wise, for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my teaching.
Proverbs 4:10
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.
Proverbs 4:20-22
Pay attention, my child, to what I say. Listen carefully. Don’t lose sight of my words. Let them penetrate deep within your heart, for they bring life and radiant health to anyone who discovers their meaning.
Proverbs 5: 1-2
My son, pay attention to my wisdom; listen carefully to my wise counsel. Then you will learn to be discreet and will store up knowledge.
Proverbs 17:16
It is senseless to pay tuition to educate a fool who has no heart for wisdom.
